Villa Teranga – A Worthwhile Staycation

Teranga is a Wolof word translated as “African hospitality” and Villa Teranga with its Morrocan Riad + West African family house architecture fusion, is the perfect staycation for the family.

This Villa has high ceilings, rustic wooden doors ornated with Adinkra symbols, stunning chandeliers, and gorgeous flowers all over the villa adding the perfect touch to it.

Getting There

Villa Teranga is located in Bortianor, a beach town in Accra. The drive here is approximately 1-hour from the Accra Mall if you don’t meet any traffic. They are just a 5-minute drive from the Bojo Beach entrance.

The road from the main road to the Villa isn’t great but, motorable. The location on Google maps is equally tricky so use this location pin instead or give them a quick call once you are approaching Bojo Beach.

Accommodation

The home has 7-bedrooms in total and can house up to 15 people. Five (5) of the bedrooms are en-suite queen beds fitted with modern amenities. The remaining 2-bedrooms have shared washrooms and a total of 5 single beds in them. This villa is ideal for large groups and families.

Each en-suite bedroom goes for $100 and you can rent the whole house for $550. The Villa, however, accepts two nights minimum stay per booking.

Events & Outdoors

The house has a cute clean swimming pool surrounded by a garden accessible to all guests. The pool area is tranquil and perfect for a dinner date. Spent all my evenings out there.

The spacious grounds at the villa is also available for parties and outdoor event rentals with a strict 100 guest allowance. The rate for renting the event grounds starts from $800 and this excludes accommodation.

This home is self-catering but there’s a cook available on request, at a fee.

The villa is 15 minutes walk from the beach – and you can also see the ocean from both the upstairs bedrooms and the balcony.

My favorite thing about this home isn’t the stunning architecture or the perfect little pool. It’s the service. Thomas the manager ensured I had a comfortable stay and the owner Khadhija shared her inspiration behind building this villa with me.
