48 Hours in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼

I visited South Africa for a few weeks so I planned a quick trip from Johannesburg to Zimbabwe to experience one of the recently named 7 natural wonders of the world, Mosi-oa-Tunya aka Victoria Falls — and this will eternally remain one of my fondest travel experiences ❤️

I put all the exciting videos together on my Instagram, watch the Full Video Here

Flying From Johannesburg

Firstly Zimbabwe is visa-free for Ghanaian passport holders and the immigration process is very smooth.

I found and booked my return ticket from Johannesburg on Fastjet for approximately $200 about a couple of weeks before my trip. I loved their onboard snack box but their service was quite tardy.

At Victoria Falls

I went straight from the airport to Victoria Falls Park on arrival in Zimbabwe. The entrance fee for international visitors at the park is $50. This, unfortunately, does not come with a tour guide, you have to pay separately for one.

The walk to the falls was very pleasant as the path is shaded by a forest with occasionally friendly monkeys swinging by.

There were at least 10 different viewpoints that I managed to walk to and each viewpoint gives you a remarkable view of the fall.

My favorite was the 1st and 6th viewpoints. You know those experiences you can’t put into words? this was one of them. I would sit by the falls every other day If I could. It is such a marvel! 🤩

Accommodation & More

I had just 1 night in Victoria Falls City and I booked my luxury tent accommodation with ShoeString Backpackers.

I loved it here, the service was excellent, the in-house chef made great meals and I made new solo backpacking buddies out here.

It is safe here and I highly recommend it for solo female budget travelers.

The overall budget for this trip was at least $400 and this included the airport transfers which were quite expensive.
