The Ankobra Bridge Resort (Not the same as Ankobra Beach Resort) is a new family-owned budget-friendly resort.

The resort is located in Ankobra, next to the Ankobra Bridge and overlooking the estuary where river Ankobra enters the Atlantic ocean. A significant site.

The drive here is approximately 6 hrs from Accra and nearly 1 hour from Takoradi. The road is mostly in excellent shape.

Accommodation

The resort has 30+ en-suite rooms ideal for large tour groups and families. Accommodation rates start at Ghc 200 for a standard en-suite room to Ghc 350 for an executive room.

The rooms are fully air-conditioned, suited with TVs, work desks, fridges, wardrobes, spacious washrooms with hot shower and all accommodation comes with complimentary breakfast.

Restaurant

The restaurant is super cozy, together with a fairly stocked bar. They have a serene garden and patios scattered across the resort all overlooking the estuary.

The food menu varies from seafood to local dishes, to pizza, to continental dishes. The menu ranges from Ghc 10 – Ghc 65. The food is great and the servings are adequate. Buffet options are available for groups.

Nzulezu – Village on Stilts – 1-hour drive
Fort Apollonia – 1-hour drive
Fort Antonio – 15 minutes drive
Ankasa Forest Reserve – 2 hours drive and
the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum in Nkroful is approximately 20 minutes drive from here.

They arrange tours to all the above-mentioned attractions at a fee.
In a couple of months, activities such as Abseiling and Kayaking will be available at the resort.

My favorite thing about this resort is the spacious clean rooms, super-fast wifi, and cozy garden area with a view of the estuary.

The security here is superb, and the service is excellent. They hire locals-only and endeavor to give back to the community yearly.

Getting Here:

If driving, set your destination to Ankobra, the resort is located just before the Ankobra bridge, easy to find.

If traveling with public transportation, travel to Takoradi first (buses available at the kaneshie and circle stations) On arrival at the final stop in Takoradi ask for Ankobra or Tarkwa station (A few minutes walk from the Accra station)

Loading taxis to Ankobra are available daily. Fare is Ghc 19 from Takoradi. Alight at the Ankobra Bridge toll booth, the resort is across the road. Speak to the resort for assistance. They are very helpful.
